What is Heat Dissipation?

Aluminum is a material with excellent heat conductivity and thermal conduction properties. As a result, aluminum is widely used in manufacturing, such as in the extrusion process, to create various types of heat sinks used in CPUs and electronic devices. This allows heat generated during operation to be dissipated efficiently through the heat dissipation principle and aluminum's thermal conductivity.

Heat Sink Construction
A heat sink is typically composed of numerous thin fins created through processes such as milling or extrusion. These fins serve to transfer heat from the heat-generating component to the surrounding environment. This works according to the principle of heat transfer, where heat moves from areas of high temperature to areas of lower temperature.

Applications of Heat Sinks

Heat sinks are commonly used in devices like CPUs, electrical equipment, and electronic circuits to maintain the temperature of these components at safe levels, ensuring stable operation. With their large, thin surface area, the fins of the heat sink effectively dissipate the heat produced by the components into the surrounding air or water environment.

Purpose of Heat Dissipation
Heat dissipation is crucial for cooling devices and maintaining their functionality. In components like CPUs and integrated circuits, heat generated during operation needs to be managed. Without heat dissipation, the heat generated within the CPU or electronic circuits would remain trapped, potentially causing the components to overheat, malfunction, or even fail completely. A heat sink is essential because it helps keep the CPU and other devices cool, even during extended periods of use. It is designed to absorb heat and dissipate it into the surrounding environment.

Technical Features of Heat Sinks
Due to their heat conduction properties, heat sinks need to have strong contact with the heat source to maximize cooling efficiency. This contact increases the heat transfer and dissipation capacity, ensuring that components like CPUs and electronic circuits are kept at safe temperatures.

Technical Requirements for Extrusion of Heat Sinks
Considering the functions of aluminum heat sinks, during the extrusion process, the surface in contact with the heat source must be smooth. The cross-sectional area of the heat dissipation surface must be large, so the fins of the heat sink need to be thin. Additionally, the number of fins per unit length must be high, and the spacing between the fins should be small to maximize the heat dissipation efficiency.

Currently, Viet Y Aluminum Co., Ltd. is one of the pioneers in the field of aluminum heat sink production. We specialize in extruding products with unique designs, ensuring absolute flatness, thin fins, and maximum fin height. These features allow the heat sinks to perform at their best during use.

We are manufacturing and supplying heat sinks with various designs to partners in Japan, South Korea, and some U.S. companies in Vietnam. Our products range from the smallest heat sinks used in electronic devices, such as hairdryers and rice cookers, to large-scale heat sinks for high-power machines, with diameters of up to 350mm.
